When Amazon Mini TV welcomed pitches for new shows to attract their TG ie. potential shoppers to the Amazon app, they confessed to lacking comedy pitches.
At First Action, we chose to pitch exactly just that - a comedy series about a bumbling constable navigating first-world problems at a police station in a posh Mumbai area.
Our goal was to create a comedy series which served as a throwback to the iconic Hindi SITCOMs of the 2000s but with a modern twist.
I led the writing room and offered structure, story, screenplay, and plot for 9 episodes, each of an average length of 25 mins each.
Starring the biggest Hindi influencers in India, Constable Girpade premiered on October 6th 2023 and was trending number #1 on Amazon Mini TV for months. It remained as one of the Top 3 trending comedy shows on Amazon Mini TV four months after it premiered.
